‘Tipu Sultan’s Battery’ [Ganapathivattam]  Town, Kerala

Tipu Sultan, ‘Tiger of Mysore’ and ruler of the Mysore Kingdom, used the 13thC Jain Temple here as an artillery and ammunition dump. 

The original name refers to the 12thC Ganapathi temple.
