‘(Our Lady of) Succour’

From Por: soccoro, ‘succour’, ‘help’.

The Nossa Senhora do Soccorro church in Bardez Taluka was built in 1667 and restored in 1763. The village of Serula, of which it was once part, was split into four separate villages: Salvador do Mundo, Penha da Franca (Britona), Pomburpa and Socorro.
