From Sin: puswela, ‘elephant creeper’ [Entada Pusaetha]; and ella, ‘waterfall, rapids’.

This is a large woody climber with a thick trunk and long twisted snake-like branches.

There is a puswela in Udawattakele which is nearly 300 years old.

Pussellawa is famous for its waterfalls: Delta (60m); Garandi (100m); Ramboda (109m); Hellebodda (10m) and Pundalu Oya (100m).
