‘Mihinda Hill’ NCP, Sri Lanka
From Mihinda and Sin: talā, ‘high ground, hill, summit, peak’.
This is the hill where Mahinda, the son of Emperor Ashoka, met Devanampiyatissa (250-210 BC) and converted him to Buddhism.
At its summit is the Maya Seya, the Maha (‘great’) Stupa.
