 ‘Horse Face’  Mountain Range/Peak, Karnataka

From Kan: kudure, ‘horse’, ‘knight (in chess)’; and Skt: mukha, ‘mouth’.

Kuduremukha is a 1,894 m peak (Karnataka’s second highest), mountain range, national park, hill station and mining town in Chikkamagaluru district. The name comes from the outline of the mountain when viewed from a particular angle.

With an annual rainfall of 7-8,000mm it is one of the wettest places in India. Its slopes are ideal for coffee and tea plantations.
