Odi: ଜୟପୁର jaẏapura

‘City of Victory’  [Jeypore Kalinga Rajya, Jeypore Samasthanam, Jayapur]  Town, Odisha 

From  Skt:  jaya, ‘conquest’, ‘victory’; and pura, ‘fort’, ‘city’.

Jeypore was the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Jeypore in the Kalinga region.

It was an independent princely state from 1443 to 1775 and a 31,079 km2 princely estate under British rule from 1776 to 1947.

It was the largest in Madras Presidency and was nearly the size of Kerala.
