Coonoor is situated on the edge of a plateau, so the name fits.
The town is surrounded by tea and coffee plantations and has thousands of local and foreign plant varieties at Sim’s Park and Botanical Garden.
It is only 10km away from Dolphin’s Nose, a promontory and observation point which offers spectacular, panoramic views of the Nilgiri Hills.
